Want to run for City Council? The deadline is soon.
Did you know that the mayoral seat and one seat for each of the three wards of South Haven's City Council are up for grabs in the 2017 election?
If you've ever thought of running for a local seat, now is a great time to make it happen. Here's what you need to do to get started (source):
1) Pick up a Nominating Petition and an Affidavit of Identity Form at City Hall. Complete the appropriate blanks.
2) If running for the office of City Council, collect a minimum of six and a maximum of 20 signatures within the ward of your residence. If running for the position of mayor, the signature requirements are the same as above but the signatures can be collected city-wide.
3) File your completed Petitions and Affidavits of Identity by April 25!
